Is VLTs & Gambling a Hobby?

There are lots of hobbies that a person can do that costs little money.  Going hiking or biking won’t put a hole in your pocket.  Many of us like activites that let us enjoy the outdoors.  

Unfortunately, there are many people who have fallen victim to the hyponotic addiction of VLTs (video lottery terminals).  They will sit for hours feeding money into these machines, and for a long time may not realize that their ‘hobby’ has become a real problem.

It’s great that everyone have a hobby, most content people in life do.  Recreational activity should not hurt the financial and emotional well being of a family.  Playing the VLTs or playing poker could have begin as a pasttime for some people, but it begin to control their life as they got more addicted.

In the long run many people that started gambling as a hobby have found the awful outcome.  They have had their family say ‘enough.’  There are some people that have lost everything they own, homes, vehicles, everything they earned from hard work.  They have maxed out credit cards and are financially tied.

VLTs and gambling are like a drug for some people.  Their brain gets stimulated making them excited and full of anticipation in hopes that they will win money.  Everybody plaese remember that VLTs were not invented to lose money.  They  only kick a few dollars back to keep gambling hobbyists in their seats to fork in more money.

It’s no secret that our economy is in rough shape.  There are so many other hobbies to choose from and lots of activities to do outside, it dosn’t make sence for people to want to hand over money so easily.  Don’t let a simple hobby like playing a VLT machine or sitting in on a poker game ruin your life.
